Guest School: ISTITUTO D'ISTRUZIONE SUPERIORE SANDRO PERTINI - ALATRI
The Sandro Pertini high school is located in the Northern part of Frosinone and it’s considered as a transition point between school and work world. There, we can study in different modules related to science or the agricultural sector.
Guest city.
Alatri is a town and comune of province of Frosinone in the Italian region of the Lazio, with c. 30,000 inhabitants. A part of the traditional region of Ciociaria, it is known for its megalithic acropolis.
Alatri famous landmark is a well-preserved fortifications constructed of tetrahedral and polygonal blocks of local limestone well jointed. It is almost entirely an embanking wall with a maximum height, probably, of about 9 metres (30 ft). Two of the gates are still to some extent preserved.
Activities carried out during:
Day 17: Welcome party at school. This day we met all the students involved in the project and we enjoyed dinner with typical local food.
Day 18: We visited the vocational building for mechanics and the technical building for environmental biotechnology. Then, we met the historic major and its major.
Day 19: Visit to Frosinone. After walking through Frosinone, we visited its art’s school, where we received talks from some professionals who work there.
Day 20: Rome. We went to the most prominent sites in Rome such as the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Square...but we also entered at the City’s Art Museum.
Day 21: Alatri. We stayed in Alatri and we did activities with our teams. Each country had to do a stand with their typical objects or food. Also some artist of the valley visited us and showed us their art.
Day 22: Last day. This day we did activities with teams too. But we had free time in the afternoon and some of us went to Frosinone to shopping. At night we had a small party in the high school and we had fun all together. Personal opinion: We really liked to know the Italian culture and to learn some things about the language. It was an amazing experience to share experiences with people from other countries and improve our English speaking with them everyday. The visits were really interesting and learn about the art directly is an experience that we will never forget.
